Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable and wait for 2 minutes. Remove knee bolster. Remove upper and lower steering column covers. Disconnect Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) connector.
  2. Remove 2 screws attaching SKIM bracket to top of steering column. Rotate SKIM and mounting bracket upward and away from steering column to remove antenna ring from lock cylinder. Remove SKIM from vehicle.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. After SKIM is replaced, SKIM initialization procedure must be performed. See SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER MODULE  under PROGRAMMING. Sentry keys must also be programmed to new module. See SENTRY KEYS  under PROGRAMMING.
