DTC P1685: Invalid Skim Key: Description

System is monitored with ignition on. DTC will set when PCM does not receive a valid key message from Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM). Possible causes for DTC to set are: incorrect Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in PCM, invalid SKIM key, no communication with SKIM, no VIN programmed in PCM, defective SKIM, defective PCM or SKIM trouble codes are set.
