Additional All Doors Failing To Lock From Any Switch

  1. Ensure ignition key is removed. Using scan tool, read key-in ignition status. If scan tool displays KEY IN IGNITION: OPEN, go to next step. If scan tool does not display KEY IN IGNITION: OPEN, go to step  6 .
  2. Remove door lock relay from junction block. See Figure . Measure resistance between terminals No. 85 and 86 at door lock relay. If resistance is 60-80 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 60-80 ohms, replace door lock relay.
  3. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 86 at door lock relay socket in junction block. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair power circuit to junction block or replace junction block.
  4. Connect a test light between terminals No. 85 and 86 at door lock relay socket in junction block. See Figure . Using scan tool, actuate door lock relay. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure .
  5. Disconnect junction block connector C1. Measure resistance between ground and terminals No. 11 (Brown/Red wire), No. 26 (Brown/Yellow wire) and No. 32 (Brown wire) at junction block connector C1. See Figure . If resistance at any terminal is less than 50 ohms, repair short to ground in appropriate relay output circuit. If resistance is 50 ohms or more at all terminals, replace door lock relay.
  6. Remove lower steering column cover. Disconnect key-in ignition switch Green connector from back of ignition switch. See Figure . Using scan tool, read key-in ignition switch status. If scan tool displays KEY-IN IGNITION SW: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display KEY-IN IGNITION SW: CLOSED, replace ignition switch. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
  7. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector "A". BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 4 (Light Blue wire) at BCM connector "A". If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Blue wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace BCM.
