ABS Message Not Received Or No Response From CAB
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) module connector. CAB module is located on right side of engine compartment and has a Black 25-pin connector. Inspect connector for damaged pins, corrosion and loose terminals. Repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 24 (Black wire) at CAB module connector. See Fig 1 . If resistance is 10 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step.
- Connect one end of a jumper wire to ground. Using other end of jumper wire, backprobe terminal No. 20 (Violet/Brown wire) at CAB module connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER, then SYSTEM TEST. Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open in Violet/Brown wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step.
- Disconnect jumper wire from terminal No. 20 and reconnect jumper wire to terminal No. 19 (White/Black wire) at CAB module connector. Using scan tool, perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open in White/Black wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 9 (Red/Dark Blue wire) at CAB module connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Red/Dark Blue wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 23 (White wire) at CAB module connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in White wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace CAB module.
