Passenger's Door Lock Switch Failure

  1. Using scan tool, clear any diagnostic trouble codes. Using scan tool, read passenger's door zone switch voltage. If PASSENGER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 3 volts, replace passenger's door lock switch. If PASSENGER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 3 volts, go to next step.
  2. Operate passenger's door lock switch to lock position and observe passenger's door zone switch voltage on scan tool. Do not hold switch in lock position for more than 7 seconds or code will set. If PASSENGER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 3 volts, go to next step. If PASSENGER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 3 volts, replace passenger's door lock switch.
  3. Operate passenger's door lock switch several times from unlock to lock position. Release switch. With switch in neutral position, observe scan tool voltage. If PASSENGER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 5 volts, system is functioning properly at this time. Fault may be intermittent. If PASSENGER'S DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 5 volts, replace passenger's door lock switch.
