Additional All Doors Fail To Lock & Unlock From One Switch

  1. If complaint is not with an interior front door lock switch, go to step  6 . If complaint is with an interior front door lock switch, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect inoperative front door lock switch connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and White/Dark Green wire at driver's door lock switch connector or White/Light Green wire at passenger's door lock switch connector. If voltage is more than 6 volts, repair short to voltage in White/Dark Green wire or White/Light Green wire between door lock switch and Body Control Module (BCM). If voltage is 6 volts or less, go to next step.
  3. If voltage measured in step 2)  is 4.5-6.0 volts, go to step  5 . If voltage measured is less than 4.5 volts, determine if vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS). If vehicle is not equipped with VTSS, go to step  11 . If vehicle is equipped with VTSS, go to next step.
  4. Determine if door locks operate properly from door key cylinder switch. If locks do not operate properly, go to step  11 . If door locks operate properly, repair open in White/Dark Green wire for driver's door or White/Light Green wire for passenger's door between door lock switch and BCM.
  5. Turn ignition off. Turn off all lights and accessories. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Black/Light Green wire) at suspect front door lock switch connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace door lock switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black/Light Green wire between ground connection and appropriate front door lock switch. See appropriate wiring diagram under WIRING DIAGRAMS in appropriate REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS article.
  6. Remove door trim panel and disconnect inoperative key cylinder switch 2-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and White/Dark Green wire (driver's door), White/Light Green wire (passenger's door) or White/Red wire (liftgate) at inoperative key cylinder switch connector. If voltage is 4.5 volts or less, go to step  10 . If voltage is more than 4.5 volts, go to next step.
  7. Turn ignition off. Turn off all lights and accessories. Measure resistance between ground and Black/Light Green wire at suspect key cylinder switch 2-pin connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black/Light Green wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  8. If problem is not with liftgate key cylinder switch, replace suspect door key cylinder switch. If liftgate key cylinder switch is suspect, go to next step.
  9. Remove liftgate trim panel. Disconnect liftgate key cylinder switch 2-pin connector. Measure resistance between ground and White/Red wire at liftgate key cylinder switch connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair short to voltage in White/Red wire between BCM and liftgate key cylinder switch. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace liftgate key cylinder switch.
  10. Determine if door locks operate properly when using interior door lock switch. If door lock does not operate properly, repair open in White/Dark Green wire (driver's door), White/Light Green wire (passenger's door) or White/Red wire (liftgate) between BCM and key cylinder switch. If door lock operates properly, go to next step.
  11. Access BCM connector "B". BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . Remove connector cover. Do not disconnect connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe connector "B" and measure voltage at terminal for suspect door or liftgate. See IDENTIFYING DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUITS  table. If voltage is 4.5 volts or less, replace BCM. If voltage is more than 4.5 volts, repair short to voltage in MUX circuit.
    IDENTIFYING DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUITS

Door BCM Terminal No. Wire Color
    Driver's 45 White/Dark Green
    Liftgate 44 White/Red
    Passenger's 55 White/Light Green
