Additional All Doors Fail To Lock & Unlock From Any Switch
- Turn ignition off. Remove and inspect fuse No. 103 from Power Distribution Center (PDC). PDC is located in engine compartment next to battery. See Figure . If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 3 .
- Measure resistance between ground and power output terminal of fuse No. 103 (component side of circuit) in PDC. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace fuse. Recheck system operation. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in power output circuit. Replace fuse.
- Install fuse No. 103. Remove door lock relay from junction block. See Figure . Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 86 at door lock relay socket in junction block. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in power circuit between PDC and junction block. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Reinstall door lock relay. Using scan tool, actuate door lock relay. If doors lock, go to next step. If doors do not lock, go to step 9 .
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector "B". BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 45 (White/Dark Green wire) at BCM connector "B". See Figure . If voltage is more than .5 volt, repair short to voltage in White/Dark Green wire between BCM and driver's door lock switch. If voltage is .5 volt or less, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 45 (White/Dark Green wire) at BCM connector "B". Hold driver's door lock switch in unlock position and observe resistance value. If resistance is 300 ohms or more, replace door lock switch and recheck power door system for additional codes or symptoms. If resistance is less than 300 ohms, go to next step.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 55 (White/Light Green wire) at BCM connector "B". If voltage is more than .5 volt, repair short to voltage in White/Light Green wire between BCM and passenger's door lock switch. If voltage is .5 volt or less, go to next step.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 44 (White/Red wire) at BCM connector "B". If voltage is more than .5 volt, repair short to voltage in White/Red wire between BCM and liftgate switch. If voltage is .5 volt or less, replace BCM.
- Remove door lock relay from junction block. See Figure . Connect a test light between terminals No. 85 and 86 at door lock relay socket in junction block. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, actuate door lock relay. If test light flashes, go to next step. If test light does not flash, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure .
- Turn ignition off. Turn off all lights. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 87A at door lock relay socket in junction block. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black wire between ground connection and junction block. For ground location, see appropriate wiring diagram under WIRING DIAGRAMS in appropriate REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS article. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Turn on all lights and accessories. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 87A at door lock relay socket in junction block. If voltage is more than one volt, repair open in Black wire between ground connection and junction block. If voltage is one volt or less, replace door lock relay.
NOTE:
PDC fuse No. 103 also supplies voltage to power seat circuit. A short in power seat circuit can cause fuse to blow when power door lock system is okay.
