A/C Switch

When A/C switch is in ON position, input signal is delivered from A/C switch to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to indicate A/C operation has been requested. The PCM uses input signal for cycling A/C compressor clutch by controlling ground circuit on A/C clutch relay. The PCM also uses input signal to increase engine idle speed to compensate for the increased engine load. The A/C switch is located on heating and A/C control panel at center of instrument panel, near the stereo. The A/C clutch relay is located in Power Distribution Center (PDC) in engine compartment, near the battery.
