Courtesy Light On At All Times (Sebring Convertible)

  1. Connect scan tool to DLC. DLC is located above hood release handle on driver's kick panel. Select BODY CONTROL MODULE on scan tool. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, go to BATTERY POWER TO MODULE DISCONNECT; IGNITION VOLTAGE TOO LOW; NO RESPONSE FROM BCM (BAT PWR DISCON'D); BATTERY POWER TO MODULE  under COMMUNICATIONS. If scan tool displays CCD BUS FAILURE, go to appropriate bus failure procedure under COMMUNICATIONS . If neither message is displayed, go to next step.
  2. Ensure dome light switch is in the middle position and all doors are aligned correctly before proceeding. If either door is misaligned or misadjusted, adjust or align as necessary. If doors are aligned and adjusted properly, go to next step.
  3. Close all doors. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display DRIVER DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays DRIVER DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to SHORTED DRIVER DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT (SEBRING CONVERTIBLE)  under DOOR AJAR.
  4. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display PASSENGER DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays PASSENGER DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to SHORTED PASSENGER DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT (SEBRING CONVERTIBLE)  under DOOR AJAR.
  5. Disconnect illuminated entry relay located above brake pedal. If courtesy lights are not illuminated, go to next step. If courtesy lights remain illuminated, repair short to ground in Yellow wire between courtesy light and illuminated entry relay.
  6. Disconnect junction block 6-pin connector C10. See Figure. Ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Brown/Light Green wire) on 6-pin connector C1. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, replace illuminated entry relay. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, repair short to ground in Brown/Light Green wire between junction block and illuminated entry relay.
