- Connect scan tool to DLC. DLC is located above hood release handle on driver's kick panel. Select BODY CONTROL MODULE on scan tool. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, go to BATTERY POWER TO MODULE DISCONNECT; IGNITION VOLTAGE TOO LOW; NO RESPONSE FROM BCM (BAT PWR DISCON'D); BATTERY POWER TO MODULE under COMMUNICATIONS. If scan tool displays CCD BUS FAILURE, go to appropriate bus failure procedure under COMMUNICATIONS . If neither message is displayed, go to next step.
- Ensure dome light switch is in the middle position and all doors are aligned correctly before proceeding. If either door is misaligned or misadjusted, adjust or align as necessary. If doors are aligned and adjusted properly, go to next step.
- Close all doors. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to SHORTED DRIVER DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT (EXCEPT SEBRING CONVERTIBLE) under DOOR AJAR.

- Locate junction block 6-pin connector C10 below horn relay. See Figure. Disconnect junction block 6-pin connector C10 and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow wire) on 6-pin connector C10. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . If resistance is 10 ohms or greater, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow wire.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) from junction block and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Reconnect junction block 6-pin connector C10. If dome light illuminates, replace junction block. If dome light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
