Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes: Notes

DTCs can be retrieved using DRBIII® or generic scan tool. See scan tool manufacturer's instructions or follow scan tool screen prompts. Using scan tool, review and record all ATC system related DTCs present in Body Control Module (BCM) and Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Scan tool must be used to retrieve PCM DTCs related to ATC system.

Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) control panel functions are commanded by BCM. ATC DTCs can be retrieved from BCM only, without the use of DRBIII® or scan tool. ATC DTCs are displayed on ATC control panel as 2-digit codes. Always review and record all 2-digit ATC DTCs present, or stored in BCM. PCM related DTCs con not be retrieved from ATC control panel.
