Except 2.5L

NOTE: Coil-On-Plug (COP) systems are used on 2.7L, 3.2L and 3.5L engines. Each coil fires an individual spark plug.
  1. On 2.0L and 2.4L engines, coil No. 1 fires cylinders No. 1 and 4. Coil No. 2 fires cylinders No. 2 and 3. Disconnect coil pack connector. Using an ohmmeter, measure primary resistance between coil pack connector center terminal (battery positive) and each outside terminal (coil negative). See IGNITION COIL SPECIFICATIONS (EXCEPT 2.5L)  table. If primary resistance is not as specified, replace coil pack.
  2. Remove spark plug wires from coil. Measure secondary resistance between towers of each individual coil. See IGNITION COIL SPECIFICATIONS (EXCEPT 2.5L)  table. If secondary resistance is not as specified, replace coil pack.
