Open Right Front Door Ajar Circuit

NOTE: Perform DOOR AJAR TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect right front door ajar switch connector. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) on harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire.
  2. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 1 (Tan/Red wire) and No. 2 (Black wire) on right front door ajar switch harness connector. Using scan tool, read right front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays RF DOOR AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, replace right front door latch assembly. If scan tool does not display RF DOOR AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Do not disconnect jumper wire. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue 16-pin connector C4. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Tan/Red wire) on BCM Blue connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Tan/Red wire.
