Open Driver's Door Ajar Circuit

NOTE: Perform DOOR AJAR TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect driver's door ajar switch connector. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) on harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire.
  2. Connect jumper wire between terminals No. 1 (Tan wire) and No. 2 (Black wire) on driver's door ajar switch harness connector. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, replace driver's door latch assembly. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Do not disconnect jumper wire. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue 16-pin connector C4. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 4 (Tan wire) on BCM Blue connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Tan wire.
