Road Test For OBD II
- If no other DTCs are present, go to next step. If any DTCs have not been diagnosed, go to DTC MESSAGES & CODES table and finish diagnosing remaining DTCs as necessary.
- Connect scan tool to DLC. Ensure fuel tank is at least 1/4 full. Turn off all accessories. The best way to verify an OBD II DTC repair is to allow PCM to run appropriate monitor(s) and increment a global good trip, misfire or fuel system good trips depending on DTC repaired.
- Enabling conditions must be met before PCM will run monitor. Using scan tool, read enabling conditions. Using scan tool, monitor pretest enabling conditions until all conditions have been met. When enabling conditions have been met, monitor appropriate OBD II monitor.
- If repaired OBD II DTC has reset or was seen in OBD II monitor while on a road test, repair is not complete. Return to DTC MESSAGES & CODES table, if necessary.
- If another DTC has set, go to DTC MESSAGES & CODES table, if necessary. If monitor ran, global good trip incremented and no new DTCs are present, repair is successful. Repair is complete.
