Skis Test 5A - VIN Mismatch & EEPROM Failure

NOTE: Perform SKIS TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, erase SKIM DTCs. Start engine 20 consecutive times. Using scan tool, read SKIM DTCs. If scan tool displays EEPROM FAILURE, replace smart key immobilizer module. Perform SKIM INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  . If scan tool does not display EEPROM FAILURE, go to next step.
  2. Start and run engine for at least 90 seconds. Using scan tool, read SKIM DTCs. If VIN MISMATCH DTC is present, go to SKIS TEST 4A  . If VIN MISMATCH DTC is not present, go to next step.
  3. If scan tool displays ROLLING CODE DTC, go to SKIS TEST 10A  . If scan tool does not display ROLLING CODE DTC, system is currently operating correctly.
