Interior Light Test 4A - Courtesy Light Inoperative With Dome Light Switch

NOTE: Perform INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure dome light switch is in the middle position before proceeding. Locate junction block 6-pin connector below horn relay. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Backprobing junction block 6-pin connector, connect jumper wire between terminal No. 4 (Black wire) and ground. If dome light does not illuminate, leave jumper wire connected and go to next step. If dome light illuminates, replace junction block.
  2. Disconnect dome light 3-pin connector and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance of dome light 3-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace dome light assembly. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire.
