Exterior Light Test 2A - Headlights Will Not Turn Off
NOTE:
Perform EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect headlight delay relay located in junction block. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. If headlights go off, go to next step. If headlights do not go off, repair short to battery voltage in Violet/White wire between ignition switch and junction block.
- Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 on headlight delay relay socket. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace headlight delay relay.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM from junction block and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Leave BCM disconnected. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 on headlight delay relay. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace BCM. If resistance is less 5 ohms, replace junction block.
