Chime Test 2A - Chime Inoperative At All Times
NOTE:
Perform CHIME TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification wiring diagrams, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Close all doors. Using scan tool, actuate chime test. If chime sounds, go to next step. If chime does not sound, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Fig 1 .
- Using scan tool, stop chime test actuation. Read key-in ignition switch status. If scan tool displays KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, go to CHIME TEST 6A .
- Ensure left front seat belt is unfastened and fully retracted. Using scan tool, read seat belt switch status. If scan tool displays SEAT BELT: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT: CLOSED, go to CHIME TEST 4A .
- Turn parking lights on. Using scan tool, read parking lights status. If scan tool does not display PARK LAMPS: ON, go to CHIME TEST 3A . If scan tool displays PARK LAMPS: ON, replace BCM.
