Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Does Not Operate Properly (Must Be Held Very Close To Vehicle)

Locate the RKE antenna wire at the back of the BCM, above the instrument panel 10-pin connector. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Ensure that antenna wire is properly connected to the BCM. Check the RKE transmitter battery voltage. If battery voltage is less than 3 volts, replace battery. If antenna is properly connected and RKE transmitter battery voltage is more than 3 volts, replace BCM. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
