Test 106A - Poor Sound Quality From One Speaker
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
NOTE:

article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
- Turn radio on. Gain access to radio amplifier. Disconnect amplifier 9-pin connector. Go to next step.
- Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on appropriate radio amplifier 9-pin connector positive (+) terminal for inoperative speaker. See AMPLIFIER 9-PIN CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If voltage is less than 5 volts, go to step 4). See AMPLIFIER 9-PIN CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If voltage is less than 5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is more than 5 volts, replace amplifier.
- Gain access to back of radio. Leave connectors connected. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check appropriate faulty positive (+) or negative (-) circuit. See RADIO CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If voltage is more than 5 volts, repair appropriate open circuit. If voltage is less than 5 volts, replace radio.
