A/C Pressure Sensor Volts Too High (DTC 33)

- With the DRB, read the A/C pressure sensor voltage. If the A/C pressure sensor voltage above 4.6 volts, go to step 3 . If the A/C pressure voltage is not above 4.6 volts, go to next step.
- Using the wiring diagram as a guide, wiggle A/C pressure sensor connector and harness. See AIR CONDITIONING in appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM article. Monitor the DRB display. If the A/C pressure sensor voltage changed, repair the harness or connector that caused the voltage to change. If the A/C pressure sensor voltage did not change, go to step 6 .
- Disconnect the A/C pressure sensor. See Fig 1 . Connect a jumper wire between the A/C pressure sensor signal and sensor ground circuits. See Fig 2 . With the DRB, read the A/C pressure sensor voltage. If the voltage is below 1.0 volt, replace the A/C pressure sensor. If the voltage is not below 1.0 volt, go to next step.
- Move the jumper wire from A/C pressure sensor ground to engine ground. See Fig 3 . Read the A/C pressure sensor voltage. If the voltage is below 1.0 volt, repair the open sensor ground circuit. If the voltage is not below 1.0 volt, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect the PCM. See Fig 4 . Using an ohmmeter, test the A/C pressure sensor signal circuit for resistance. See Fig 5 . If the resistance is below 5 ohms, replace the PCM. If the resistance is not below 5 ohms repair the open sensor signal circuit.
- The condition required to set the code is not present. Using the wiring diagram as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors. See AIR CONDITIONING in appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM article. If any problems were found, repair as necessary. If no problems were found, refer to Inactive Trouble Code Information. See INACTIVE TROUBLE CODE CONDITION .
