VTSS Test 13B - VTSS Left Disarm Sense Circuit

NOTE: Perform VTSS TEST 13A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER INTRODUCTION. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Remove key from ignition switch and open left front door. Using key, turn left front door key cylinder switch to unlock position and hold. Using scan tool read, left door arm/disarm voltage. If voltage is less than 9.0 volts, go to step 3). If voltage is greater than 9.0 volts, go to next step.
  2. Using key, turn left front door key cylinder switch to lock position and hold. Using scan tool, read left door arm/disarm voltage. If voltage is less than 6.8 volts, replace left front door key cylinder switch. If voltage is greater than 6.8 volts, replace BCM. Ensure connector is clean and not damaged.
  3. Disconnect left front door key cylinder switch connector and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on switch connector Pink wire. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Pink wire circuit from switch connector to splice.
  4. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of left front door key cylinder switch connector Light Green/Orange wire. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green/Orange wire.
  5. Connect a jumper wire between left front door key cylinder switch connector Light Green/Orange wire and Pink wire. Using scan tool, read left door arm/disarm voltage. If voltage is less than 9.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 9.5 volts, replace left front door key cylinder switch.
  6. Locate BCM 20-pin connector at junction block. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe and check voltage on BCM 20-pin connector terminal No. 19 (Light Green/Orange wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Light Green/Orange wire circuit. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, replace BCM.
