Power Door Lock Test 2B - All Doors Fail To Lock/Unlock From

ANY SWITCH

NOTE: Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 2A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER INTRODUCTION. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, read door lock switch voltage. If voltage is less than 0.5 volt, go to next step. If voltage is more than 0.5 volt, repair short to battery voltage in White/Dark Green wire.
  2. Remove and inspect fuse No. 9 (15-amp), located in junction block. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. If fuse is okay, reinstall fuse and go to next step. If fuse is open, go to step 6). 3) Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on cavity No. 16 (Red/White wire) on battery voltage side of fuse No. 9. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Red/White wire between junction block and Power Distribution Center (PDC).
  3. Disconnect and remove BCM from junction block. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM 12-pin internal connector terminals No. 2 and No. 12. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace junction block.
  4. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of BCM 12-pin internal connector terminal No. 10. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black (ground) wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
  5. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of fused battery voltage side of fuse No. 9. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 7). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace fuse No. 9 and press door lock switch to LOCK position. If fuse blows, go to POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 2C. If fuse does not blow, press door lock switch to UNLOCK position. If fuse blows, go to POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 2D  . If fuse did not blow, system is operating properly.
  6. Remove BCM and ensure connectors are clean, wired correctly, not damaged and no terminals pushed out. Repair as necessary. If connectors are okay, replace BCM.
