Interior Light Test 3A - Courtesy Light On At All Times
NOTE:
Perform INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER INTRODUCTION. Perform TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Ensure dome light switch is in the middle position and all doors are aligned correctly before proceeding. Close all doors. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays, LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 2A .
- Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 4A.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM from junction block and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. If dome light did not go out, go to next step. If dome light did go out, replace BCM.
- Locate junction block 6-pin connector below horn relay. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Disconnect junction block 6-pin connector and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of junction block 6-pin connector terminal No. 3 (Yellow wire). If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace junction block. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow wire.
