Test 62C - Repairing Short To Ground In Check Gauges Lamp
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR
IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect oil pressure sender connector. Oil pressure sender is located near oil filter. Check connector condition and clean or repair connector as necessary. If check gauges warning lamp turns off, replace oil pressure oil sending unit. If check gauges warning lamp stays on, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. Body controller is located behind right side kick panel. Check condition of connector and clean or repair connector as necessary. Turn ignition switch to ON position, engine off. If check gauges warning lamp turns off, replace BCM. If check gauges warning lamp stays on, go to next step.
- Disconnect instrument cluster Black connector. Put DRB in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at BCM Black connector terminal No. 23 (Dark Green/Yellow wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Green/Yellow wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace mechanical instrument cluster.
