Test 52C - Repairing Chime Inoperative With External Lamps On
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Turn headlamps on. Using DRB, read headlamp status. If DRB displays HEADLAMPS ON, go to step 4). If DRB does not display HEADLAMPS ON, go to next step.
- Turn headlamps off. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone connector. BCM is located behind right kick panel. Turn headlamps on. Go to next step.
- Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Bone connector terminal No. 23 (Black/Yellow wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Black/Yellow wire.
- Ensure left front door is open. Using DRB, read left front door ajar switch status. If DRB displays LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to TEST 43A . If DRB does not display LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace BCM.
