Test 52C - Repairing Chime Inoperative With External Lamps On

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn headlamps on. Using DRB, read headlamp status. If DRB displays HEADLAMPS ON, go to step 4). If DRB does not display HEADLAMPS ON, go to next step.
  2. Turn headlamps off. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone connector. BCM is located behind right kick panel. Turn headlamps on. Go to next step.
  3. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Bone connector terminal No. 23 (Black/Yellow wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Black/Yellow wire.
  4. Ensure left front door is open. Using DRB, read left front door ajar switch status. If DRB displays LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to TEST 43A  . If DRB does not display LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace BCM.
