TEST 61C - Repairing Open In Low Fuel Light
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS at the end of this article. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect body control module Black connector. Body controller is located behind right side kick panel. Turn ignition switch to ON position.
- Using DRB-II in voltmeter mode, probe body control module Black connector terminal No. 9 low fuel light control circuit (Light Blue/Red wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace body control module. If voltage is less than 2 volts, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect instrument cluster Red connector.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Probe terminal No. 9, fused ignition feed circuit (Dark Blue/White wire) of instrument cluster Red connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Dark Blue/White wire.
- If voltage is more than 10 volts, check low fuel warning light socket and bulb. If low fuel warning light bulb is open, replace bulb. If low fuel warning light bulb is okay, replace mechanical instrument cluster.
