Test 27A - EVIC Head Warning Messages

Always repair an inoperative speedometer before diagnosing an Electronic Vehicle Instrument Center (EVIC) head message. If inoperative speedometer is in an electronic cluster, go to TEST 18B  . If speedometer is in an mechanical (analog) cluster, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. Identify message and perform test specified. See EVIC HEAD WARNING MESSAGES table.

NOTE: It is possible for a failure to occur without setting a warning message on EVIC display. Perform the following tests even if warning message is not displayed.
