TEST 5D - Checking Ambient Temperature Sensor
NOTE:
For connector identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS Section. Perform VERIFICATION TEST 71A after each repair.
- Using DRB-II, measure outside temperature sensor voltage. If voltage is less then 4 volts, replace compass/temperature module. If voltage is more than 4 volts, go to next step.
- Disconnect ambient temperature sensor connector, located on inside left front bumper. connect a jumper wire across both ambient temperature sensor connector terminals. If voltage is more than one volt, replace ambient temperature sensor. If voltage is less than one volt, go to next step.
- Disconnect jumper wire. Connect a jumper wire between ambient temperature sensor connector Violet/Light Green wire and ground. If voltage is less than one volt, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire between compass temperature module and ambient temperature sensor. If voltage is more than one volt, go to next step.
- Disconnect jumper wire. Gain access to compass/temperature module connector, located behind overhead console. Connect a jumper wire between compass/temperature module connector Violet/Light Green wire and ground. If voltage is less than one volt, repair open in Violet/Light Green wire between compass/temperature module connector and ambient temperature sensor connector. If voltage is more than one volt, replace compass/temperature module.
