TEST 18A - Identifying Defective Gauge

  1. Using DRB-II, actuate electronic instrument cluster sequential segment test. This test should cause all vacuum fluorescent bars on gauges to illuminate. If any bar does not illuminate or 2 bars illuminate together, test fails.
  2. If test fails, replace electronic instrument cluster. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If test passes, check temperature gauge operation. If temperature gauge is not operating correctly, perform TEST 19A . If temperature gauge is operating correctly, check fuel gauge operation.
  3. If fuel gauge is not operating correctly, perform TEST 49A . If fuel gauge is operating correctly, check oil gauge operation. If oil gauge is not operating correctly, perform TEST 50A .
  4. If oil gauge is operating correctly, check voltage gauge operation. If voltage gauge is not operating correctly, check charging system. If voltage gauge is operating correctly, test is complete. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
