TEST 14C - Left Front Door Jamb Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagrams, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS Section.
  1. Ensure all doors are closed. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DRB-II, read left front door jamb switch status. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT OPEN, go to step 5). If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT OPEN, disconnect left front door jamb switch.
  2. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT OPEN, replace left front door jamb switch. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT OPEN, turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  3. Disconnect body controller Black connector. Body controller is located behind right side kick panel. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Put DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Probe terminal No. 13 (Black/Light Blue wire) of body controller Black connector.
  4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Black/Light Blue wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace body controller. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
  5. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT OPEN in step 1), disconnect left front door jamb switch. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 1 (Black/Light Blue wire) and No. 2 (Black wire) of left front door jamb switch connector.
  6. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace left front door jamb switch. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 1 (Black/Light Blue wire) of left front door jamb switch connector and ground. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, repair open Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
  7. If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, disconnect jumper wire. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect body controller Black connector. Body controller is located behind right side kick panel. Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary.
  8. Reconnect body controller Black connector. Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 13 (Black/Light Blue wire) at wiring harness side of body controller Black connector and ground. If DRB-II displays CIRCUIT CLOSED, repair open Black/Light Blue wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 . If DRB-II does not display CIRCUIT CLOSED, replace body controller. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 .
