Idle Speed Control (ISC) Servo Motor Position Sensor (MPS)

  1. Measure resistance between motor position sensor connector terminals No. 3 and 4. Reading should be 4-6 ohms. See Figure .
  2. Connect ohmmeter between motor position sensor connector terminals No. 1 and 4. Operate ISC motor by connecting 6 volts between ISC motor connector terminals No. 1 and 4. Change of resistance should be smooth from 4-6 ohms to approximately 500 ohms. Replace ISC servo motor assembly if necessary.
CAUTION: Applying more than 6 volts across terminals No. 1 and 4 of ISC motor connector could cause locking of the servo gears.
