Single Use Fasteners and Components

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. - Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.

    Oil Drain Plug (2) - Remove

  4. Oil Pan Drain Plug Seal (1) - Remove and DISCARD
  5. Allow the oil to drain completely.
  6. NOTE:

    Ensure that the old oil filter seal has been removed.

  7. Oil Filter (3) - Remove and DISCARD

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  9. Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Bolt (1) - Remove
  10. Oil Pump Flow Control Valve (2) - Remove
  11. Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Seal (3) - Remove and DISCARD

Installation Procedure

    Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Seal (3) - Install NEW

  2. Oil Pump Flow Control Valve (2) - Install
  3. CAUTION:

    Refer to: Fastener Caution

  4. Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  5. Connect the electrical connector.

    Oil Pan Drain Plug Seal (1) - Install NEW

  7. Oil Drain Plug (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  8. Clean the sealing surface of the engine block.
  9. Lubricate the NEW oil filter gasket with clean engine oil.
  10. Install a NEW oil filter and tighten 3/4 to 1 full turn after the gasket makes contact with the sealing surface on the filter mounting flange. (3)
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. CAUTION:

    Using engine oils of any viscosity other than those viscosities recommended could result in engine damage.

  13. Fill the engine oil to the proper level with NEW engine oil. Approximate Fluid Capacities .
  14. Start the engine and allow it to run until the oil pressure control indicator goes off.
  15. Check and correct the engine oil level.
  16. Perform the engine oil life reset. Engine Oil Life Reset .
