Removal Procedure
WARNING:
In order to avoid being burned, do not service the exhaust system while it is still hot. Service the system when it is cool.
WARNING:
Avoid contact with HOT components. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves to avoid personal injury.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
Catalytic Converter Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
Exhaust Hanger Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove
- Exhaust Muffler (2) @ Exhaust Insulator (3) - Separate
Exhaust Muffler (1) @ Exhaust Insulator-Left Side (2) - Separate
- Exhaust Muffler (1) @ Exhaust Insulator-Right Side (3) - Separate
Exhaust Muffler (1) - Remove
- Exhaust System Front Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD
Support the fuel tank with a suitable jack.
- Fuel Tank Strap Bolt - Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]
- Fuel Tank Strap - Right Side (2) - Remove
Fuel Tank Shield Nut (1) - Remove [3x]
- Fuel Tank Shield (2) - Remove
