CORRECTION
Before replacing any components, please ensure the USB cable connections between the radio and all USB receptacles are OK.
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
Various build configurations mean that some vehicles may have more than one USB receptacle that transmits data. Diagnosis should occur on all data-transmitting USB receptacles, those connected via USB cable, not just the one containing the SD card receptacle.
Test the USB receptacle(s) capabilities. Refer to Auxiliary Audio Input Malfunction diagnostic steps in SI.
In these systems, the USB receptacles are daisy-chained together. Inspection and cycling of connections should occur at each USB cable connector.
If diagnosis leads to replace the Multimedia Receptacle, please cycle the connections of the receptacles first.
- If condition is corrected by cycling connections, no replacement is necessary at this time. Please submit a Field Product Report to indicate your findings.
- If condition persists after cycling the connection, or if the vehicle returns later with the same symptom after having previously cycled USB cable connections, then replace the Multimedia Receptacle.
This PI will be replaced by a Service Bulletin or SI Update when the final repair procedure is published.
