Installation Procedure

  1. Position the battery positive and negative cable in the vehicle (2).
  2. Install the retainer (1).

  3. Install Battery Positive Cable (3)
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install and tighten Battery Positive Cable Nut (2) to 17 N.m (13 lb ft)
  5. Install the positive battery cable protective cap to the generator terminal (3).

  6. Install Battery Positive Cable (2)
  7. Install and tighten Starter Positive Cable Nut (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  8. Install Battery Negative Cable (2)
  9. Install and tighten Battery Negative Cable Frame Ground Fastener (1) to 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

  10. Install Battery Negative Cable (1)
  11. Install and tighten Battery Negative Cable Frame Ground Fastener (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  12. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement 
  13. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement

  14. Install Battery Fuse Block Battery Positive Cable (3)
  15. Install and tighten Battery Fuse Block Battery Positive Cable Nut (2) to 12 N.m (106 lb in)
  16. Close the battery fuse block cover (1).
  17. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (without KL9) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (with KL9) .
