Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 HD, 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 HD, 2016 GMC Sierra 1500, 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD, and 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD.   1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  2. Lower and secure the spare tire and wheel assembly.

  4. Disconnect the chassis control module and the trailer brake power control module electrical connectors.
  5. Loosen, but do not remove, the chassis control and trailer brake power control module bracket bolts (1).
  6. Slide the chassis control and trailer brake power control module bracket toward the right of the vehicle and remove the assembly from the vehicle.

  8. Remove the trailer brake power control module nuts (1).

  10. Remove the trailer brake power control module (1) from the bracket.
