Circuit/System Description

The body control module monitors the signal circuit from the traction control switch, the SPORT (+) Mode Switch and the TOUR (-) Mode Switch. When the traction control switch is pressed twice within five seconds the performance traction mode is available and entered into Performance Traction Control Mode 2 - Dry. The SPORT (+) Mode Switch is used to select modes 2 - 5 and the TOUR (-) Mode Switch is used to deselect modes 5 - 1. Based on the driver selection and skill, one of the five track modes will integrate multiple calibrations in the powertrain and chassis electronics controlling the engine speed while modulating engine torque for maximum acceleration once the vehicle is moving.

The body control module then sends a serial data message to the suspension control module to modify the shock damper rates which will change the ride and handling characteristics of the vehicle. The body control module then sends a serial data message to the instrument cluster via serial data to turn the traction control off indicator and stability control off indicator ON to notify the driver of the deactivation and the driver information center will display a message indicating the driver selected performance traction control mode.
