Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fuel injection pump metering valve (2).

    Install a NEW fuel injection pump metering valve o-ring seal. The seal is NOT shown.

  2. Install the fuel injection pump metering valve fasteners (1) and tighten to 9 N.m. (80 lb in).
    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Position the fuel feed hose protector (3).

  4. Install the fuel feed hose protector bolt (2) and tighten to 25 N.m. (18 lb ft).
  5. Install the fuel feed and return harness bracket nut (1) and tighten to 22 N.m. (16 lb ft).
  6. Connect the electrical connector (1).

  7. Install Engine Mount Bracket-Left Side. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Left Side
  8. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery) .
  9. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming 
  10. With the engine running, check the fuel system for leaks.
