Installation Procedure

  1. Install Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Temperature Sensor and tighten 45 N.m. (33 lb ft)

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

    NOTE:

    If reinstalling the old sensor, coat the threads with anti-sieze compound. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .

  2. Engage Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Temperature Sensor Wiring Harness Retainer
  3. Connect Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector
  4. Install Engine Cover - Refer to Engine Cover Replacement
  5. If replacing, perform the exhaust gas temperature sensor reset. Refer to Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Reset 
  6. If replacing, perform the NOx catalyst reductant loading reset. Refer to NOx Catalyst Reductant Loading Reset
