Circuit/System Testing

Bluetooth ® Audio

  1. Ignition ON, infotainment system ON.
  2. Verify that audio is heard clearly through all speaker channels when tuning radio to a known good station.
    • Go to next step: If audio is heard clearly
  3. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the A11 Radio and the X2 harness connector at the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module, ignition ON.
  4. Test for less than 1 V between each A11 Radio X2 harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
    • Signal circuit terminal 34
    • Signal circuit terminal 35
    • Shield circuit terminal 36
    • If 1 V or greater

Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If less than 1 V
  5. Test for infinite resistance between each A11 Radio X2 harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
    • Signal circuit terminal 34
    • Signal circuit terminal 35
    • Shield circuit terminal 36
    • If less than infinite resistance

Repair the short to ground on the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
  6. Test for less than 2 Ω between each harness connector terminal listed below end to end.
    • A11 Radio X2 terminal 34 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 9
    • A11 Radio X2 terminal 35 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 10
    • A11 Radio X2 terminal 36 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 5
    • If 5 Ω or greater

Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If less than 5 Ω
  7. Replace the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module. Connect all harness connectors.
  8. Perform the Circuit/System Verification.
  9. Verify the audio from the Bluetooth ® system is heard clearly.
    • If the audio from the Bluetooth ® system is not heard clearly

      Replace the A11 Radio.

    • Go to next step: If the audio from the Bluetooth ® system is heard clearly
  10. All OK.

Bluetooth ® Antenna

  1. Ignition OFF.
  2. Verify the T4S Wireless Communication Antenna- Bluetooth ® is properly connected at the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module, and there is no damage to the cable or connector.
    • If connection problems or damage is noted.

Perform the appropriate repair or replacement to correct any issues.

    • Go to next step: If no connection problems or damage are noted.
  3. Replace the T4S Wireless Communication Antenna- Bluetooth ®.
  4. Perform the Circuit/System Verification.
  5. Verify the failure message is not Bluetooth ® ANTENNA OPEN or Bluetooth ® ANTENNA SHORTED
    • If the failure message is Bluetooth ® ANTENNA OPEN or Bluetooth ® ANTENNA SHORTED.

Replace the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module.

    • Go to next step: If the failure message is not Bluetooth ® ANTENNA OPEN or Bluetooth ® ANTENNA SHORTED.
  6. All OK.

Microphone

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B24 Cellular Phone Microphone and disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module, ignition ON.
  2. Test for less than 1 V between each B24 Cellular Phone Microphone harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
    • Signal circuit terminal 1
    • Signal circuit terminal 2
    • 5 V circuit terminal 4
    • If 1 V or greater

Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If less than 1 V
  3. Test for infinite resistance between each B24 Cellular Phone Microphone harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
    • Signal circuit terminal 1
    • Signal circuit terminal 2
    • 5 V circuit terminal 4
    • If less than infinite resistance

Repair the short to ground on the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
  4. Test for less than 2 Ω between each harness connector terminal listed below end to end.
    • B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 1 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 7
    • B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 2 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 8
    • B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 4 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 29
    • If 5 Ω or greater

Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.

    • Go to next step: If less than 5 Ω
  5. Replace the B24 Cellular Phone Microphone. Connect all harness connectors.
  6. Perform the Circuit/System Verification.
  7. Verify the failure message is not MICROPHONE TEST.
    • If the failure message is MICROPHONE TEST.

Replace the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module.

    • Go to next step: If the failure message is not MICROPHONE TEST.
