Circuit/System Testing
Bluetooth ® Audio
- Ignition ON, infotainment system ON.
- Verify that audio is heard clearly through all speaker channels when tuning radio to a known good station.
- If audio is not heard clearly
Refer to Speaker Malfunction following below
- Go to next step: If audio is heard clearly
- If audio is not heard clearly
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the A11 Radio and the X2 harness connector at the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module, ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between each A11 Radio X2 harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
- Signal circuit terminal 34
- Signal circuit terminal 35
- Shield circuit terminal 36
- If 1 V or greater
Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 1 V
- Test for infinite resistance between each A11 Radio X2 harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
- Signal circuit terminal 34
- Signal circuit terminal 35
- Shield circuit terminal 36
- If less than infinite resistance
Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 Ω between each harness connector terminal listed below end to end.
- A11 Radio X2 terminal 34 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 9
- A11 Radio X2 terminal 35 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 10
- A11 Radio X2 terminal 36 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 5
- If 5 Ω or greater
Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 5 Ω
- Replace the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module. Connect all harness connectors.
- Perform the Circuit/System Verification.
- Verify the audio from the Bluetooth ® system is heard clearly.
- If the audio from the Bluetooth ® system is not heard clearly
Replace the A11 Radio.
- Go to next step: If the audio from the Bluetooth ® system is heard clearly
- If the audio from the Bluetooth ® system is not heard clearly
- All OK.
Bluetooth ® Antenna
- Ignition OFF.
- Verify the T4S Wireless Communication Antenna- Bluetooth ® is properly connected at the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module, and there is no damage to the cable or connector.
- If connection problems or damage is noted.
Perform the appropriate repair or replacement to correct any issues.
- Go to next step: If no connection problems or damage are noted.
- If connection problems or damage is noted.
- Replace the T4S Wireless Communication Antenna- Bluetooth ®.
- Perform the Circuit/System Verification.
- Verify the failure message is not Bluetooth ® ANTENNA OPEN or Bluetooth ® ANTENNA SHORTED
- If the failure message is Bluetooth ® ANTENNA OPEN or Bluetooth ® ANTENNA SHORTED.
Replace the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module.
- Go to next step: If the failure message is not Bluetooth ® ANTENNA OPEN or Bluetooth ® ANTENNA SHORTED.
- If the failure message is Bluetooth ® ANTENNA OPEN or Bluetooth ® ANTENNA SHORTED.
- All OK.
Microphone
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B24 Cellular Phone Microphone and disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module, ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between each B24 Cellular Phone Microphone harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
- Signal circuit terminal 1
- Signal circuit terminal 2
- 5 V circuit terminal 4
- If 1 V or greater
Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 1 V
- Test for infinite resistance between each B24 Cellular Phone Microphone harness connector terminal listed below and ground:
- Signal circuit terminal 1
- Signal circuit terminal 2
- 5 V circuit terminal 4
- If less than infinite resistance
Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 Ω between each harness connector terminal listed below end to end.
- B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 1 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 7
- B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 2 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 8
- B24 Cellular Phone Microphone - terminal 4 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module X2 terminal 29
- If 5 Ω or greater
Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 5 Ω
- Replace the B24 Cellular Phone Microphone. Connect all harness connectors.
- Perform the Circuit/System Verification.
- Verify the failure message is not MICROPHONE TEST.
- If the failure message is MICROPHONE TEST.
Replace the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module.
- Go to next step: If the failure message is not MICROPHONE TEST.
- If the failure message is MICROPHONE TEST.
- All OK.
