Installation Procedure

  1. Ensure the fuel feed intermediate pipe fittings, high pressure fuel pump fitting, and fuel rail fittings are clean and dry prior to assembly.
  2. Lubricate the fuel feed intermediate pipe fittings with silicon free engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  3. Position the NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe (2) to the high pressure fuel pump (5) and fuel rails (1, 6) and hand tighten the fittings.
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  4. Tighten the fuel feed intermediate pipe fittings to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
  5. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
    1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  6. Install the fuel pipe shield. Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement
