Removal Procedure
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief
- Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining
- Remove Two-Piece Propeller Shaft. Refer to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Coupe MM6, M13, MJK)Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Convertible MM6, M13, MJK)Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Coupe M5T, M5U, MGL)Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Convertible M5T, M5U, MGL)
- Remove the left front rear suspension bracket. Refer to Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement (Rear (Coupe))Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement (Front)
- Remove Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe - Mid Line Left and Mid Line Right. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT4 With MJK and KNR, LT1 With MM6, With KNR, Mid Line Left)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT4 With MJK and KNR, LT1 With MM6, With KNR, Mid Line Right)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With M5U, With KNR, Mid Line Left)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT1 With M5U, With KNR, Mid Line Right)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT4 With MGL, With KNR, Mid Line Left)Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement (LT4 With MGL, With KNR, Mid Line Right)
- Disconnect Electrical Connector (1)
- Remove Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp (1)
- Remove Fuel Tank Filler Hose (2)
- Disconnect Evaporative Emission Canister Hose (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Disconnect Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Hose (4). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Disconnect Fuel Feed Pipe (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Disconnect Evaporative Emission Pipe (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Support the fuel tank with a suitable jack.
- Remove Fuel Tank Strap Bolts (1) (Qty: 3)
- Remove Fuel Tank Strap Bolts (2) (Qty: 2)
- Remove Fuel Tank Straps (3) (Qty: 2)
- Remove Fuel Tank (1)
- Transfer components as necessary.
WARNING:
To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
