Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the sealing surfaces.
    2. Fig 1: Vacuum Pump Bolts

  2. Install a NEW vacuum pump gasket.
  3. Install the vacuum pump (1).
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  4. Tighten Vacuum Pump Bolt (2)

    Tighten

    1. First Pass: 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: 25 N.m (18 lb ft)

  5. Install the surge tank fixing bolts and tighten to 5 N.m (44 lb in)

  6. Install the brake booster vacuum pipe (1) to the vacuum pump. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
