| 1 | Fuel Pump Bolt (Qty: 2)
CAUTION:
Alternately hand-tighten the fuel pump bolts one turn at a time until the pump is fully seated. Trying to draw down the pump without even side-to-side tightening may result in pump plunger damage.
CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
NOTE:
Add thread locker to the fuel pump fastener threads prior to installing. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers Tighten 11 N.m (97 lb in) |
| 2 | Fuel Injection Pump
NOTE:
To aid installation of the fuel pump, rotate the engine so that the fuel pump lobe of the intake cam is at it's lowest point. Use the EN-50790 alignment gauge to ensure that the camshaft lobe is in the base circle position. At the base circle position, the tool will be flush with the head. | 3 | Fuel Pump Housing Seal
NOTE:
Install a NEW fuel pump housing seal. |
| 4 | Valve Lifter Follower
NOTE:
The valve lifter follower may slide out of the cylinder head upon fuel pump removal.
NOTE:
Lubricate the high pressure fuel pump roller with clean engine oil prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers |
