Installation Procedure
- Install the nitrogen oxide sensor (1) into the exhaust and tighten to 45 N.m (33 lb ft)
- Position the nitrogen oxide sensor module (3) then install the fasteners (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in)
- Perform the scan tool nitrogen oxide sensor reset procedure after replacing the sensor(s).
- Perform the diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration enable. Refer to Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration Enable .
- Perform the glow plug control module programming and setup. Refer to Glow Plug Control Module Programming and Setup .
- Install any components or connectors that have been removed or replaced during diagnosis.
- Perform any adjustment, programming, or setup procedures that are required when a component or module is removed or replaced.
- Clear the DTCs
- Duplicate the Conditions for Running the DTC and use the Freeze Frame/Failure Records, if applicable, in order to verify the DTC does not reset. If the DTC resets or another DTC is present. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.

NOTE:
If reinstalling the old sensor, coat the threads with anti-sieze compound. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
