Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .

  3. Remove the battery fuse block cover (2).
  4. Remove the battery fuse block fasteners (3) and remove the battery positive cable (1).
  5. Remove the generator battery control wiring harness cable (5) from the battery fuse block (4).

  7. Remove the generator battery positive cable protective boot (1).
  8. Remove the generator B + fastener (2) and remove the generator battery control wiring harness terminal (3), from the back of the generator.

  10. Remove the generator battery control wiring harness ground fastener (1) and remove the generator battery control wiring harness terminal (2), from the front engine block.
  11. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  12. Remove the steering gear skid shield. Refer to Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement .

  14. Disconnect the electronic power steering (EPS) connector (2) from the generator battery control wiring harness (1).

  16. Remove the generator battery control wiring harness cable fastener (2) from the starter stud (1) and remove the generator battery control wiring harness cable (3) from the starter.

  18. Detach the generator battery control wiring harness retainers (1) and remove the generator battery control wiring harness (2), from the vehicle.
