Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .
- Remove the battery fuse block cover (2).
- Remove the battery fuse block fasteners (3) and remove the battery positive cable (1).
- Remove the generator battery control wiring harness cable (5) from the battery fuse block (4).
- Remove the generator battery positive cable protective boot (1).
- Remove the generator B + fastener (2) and remove the generator battery control wiring harness terminal (3), from the back of the generator.
- Remove the generator battery control wiring harness ground fastener (1) and remove the generator battery control wiring harness terminal (2), from the front engine block.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the steering gear skid shield. Refer to Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement .
- Disconnect the electronic power steering (EPS) connector (2) from the generator battery control wiring harness (1).
- Remove the generator battery control wiring harness cable fastener (2) from the starter stud (1) and remove the generator battery control wiring harness cable (3) from the starter.
- Detach the generator battery control wiring harness retainers (1) and remove the generator battery control wiring harness (2), from the vehicle.
