Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  4. Disconnect the body wiring master harness connector (1) from the battery positive cable junction block.

  5. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
  6. Remove the fuse block cover.

  7. Remove the auxiliary fuse block cover.
  8. Remove the positive battery cable nut (1) from the fuse block.
  9. Remove the positive battery cable nut (2) from the auxiliary fuse block.
  10. Remove the positive battery cable (3) from the fuse block and auxiliary fuse block.
  11. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
  12. Remove the battery negative cable frame ground bolt (1).

  13. Remove the battery negative cable (2).
  14. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  15. Remove the exhaust pipe assembly. Refer to Exhaust Pipe Replacement (LFM) .
  16. Remove the starter solenoid B (+) nut (1).

  17. Remove the generator B (+) nut (2).
  18. Remove the engine harness and battery cable male ground bolt (3).
  19. Remove the retainer (4).
  20. Remove the battery positive and negative cable (5) from the vehicle.
