Installation Procedure

  1. Charge Air Bypass Valve Membrane (3)» Install

    NOTE: Ensure there is no dirt or debris in the turbocharger housing valve cavity.
  2. Charge Air Bypass Valve Piston (2)» Install
  3. Valve Spring (1)» Install
  4. Charge Air Bypass Valve Cover (2)» Install

    NOTE: The charge air bypass valve piston guide pin fits inside the charge air bypass valve cover guide bore.
  5. Fastener (1) [3x]» Install - Tighten the bolts until snug.
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  6. Fastener (1) [3x]» Tighten 12 N.m (106 lb in)
  7. Use GE-23738-A  Vacuum Pump to check for vacuum leak.
  8. Hose Clamp (1) [2x] @ Charge Air Bypass Valve Tube Connector (2)» Loosely install

  9. Charge Air Bypass Valve Tube Connector (2)» Install
  10. Hose Clamp (1) [2x] @ Charge Air Bypass Valve Tube Connector (2)» Move into position - Tighten
  11. Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator» Install - Turbocharger Assemble
  12. Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Installation »Install
